High Density Polyethylene Plant

Ilam HDPE Plant is designed and built (Sep. 2004 - July 2007) to produce 300,000 tons per year of different grades of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) including Black Pipe, using as its main feed the ethylene product of the adjacent Ethylene Plant in Ilam Petrochemical Complex. An alternative source of ethylene would be the Olefin 11 Plant of Assaluyeh from where ethylene is transferred via a pipeline to the western provinces of Iran. The Plant is located near city of Ilam, in the south west of Iran. In this EPCC Project the scope of work of Contractor, a Consortium of MES (Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding); and EIED, consists of arranging for finance (MES), License supply (Mitsui Chemicals Inc.- MCI), Basic Engineering (MES), Detailed Engineering (EIED), Procurement (MES/EIED), Construction (Selected Sub-contractor by EIED; Construction Management services by EIED/MES), Training (MES), Precomm. / Comm. (MES/EIED), Performance Test (MCI/MES).
The plant will consist of the following process units:
v Catalyst Feeding v Polymerization v Separation and Drying v Palletizing & Storage v Hexane Recovery v Process Auxiliaries v Auxiliaries The Owner supplies plant Utility requirements at the B.L. A 35,000 m2 warehouse with bagging facilities is anticipated for the storage of one month production of the plant.
Contract duration is 34 months (for mechanical completion). Owner is Ilam Petrochemical Company, and the Consortium members are jointly & severally responsible towards the Owner.
